Safe Sport Topics:
- Isabella Flores and Ivan Desyatov were unexpectedly withdrawn from Skate America on Oct. 16. No reason was given for the withdrawal at the time.
- On Friday, Oct. 18, it was announced that Ivan was temporarily suspended by the U.S. Center for Safe Sport, pending an investigation of a complaint against him. No additional information has been released.
- Flores and Desyatov’s Team USA bio was removed from the U.S. Figure Skating Fan Zone.
General Skating News:
- Valentina Plazas/Max Fernandez (USA) have withdrawn from both NHK Trophy and Cup of China.
- Siyang Zhang/Ziqi Jia (CHN) have also withdrawn from Cup of China. They are replaced by Ioulia Chtchetinina/Michal Wozniak (POL).
- Lucrezia Beccari/Matteo Guarise (ITA) have withdrawn from Skate Canada. They are being replaced by Ioulia Chtchetinina / Michal Wozniak (POL)
- Loena Hendrickx (BEL) has withdrawn from her first assignment at Grand Prix de France
- Two-time Olympian Alexia Paganini, of Switzerland, announced her retirement from competitive skating.
- 2022 Japanese pair champion Miyu Yunoki announced she has teamed up with Canadian pair skater Tristan Taylor.
