Safe Sport Topics & Online Resources for Skaters, Parents & the Figure Skating Community
- Solene Mazingue recounted the night of her sexual assault to a French media outlet. (Have to subscribe to read article)
- Solene has posted a link on her social media accounts where assault survivors can share their testimonies. She has begun posting these testimonies with the hashtag #metooskating in order to raise awareness and encourage change in the sport. General Skating News:
Grand Prix assignment updates:
- Lara Naki Gutmann (ITA) and Ahsun Yun (KOR) have been assigned to Finlandia Trophy after Isabeau Levito and Loena Hendrickx withdrew last week.
- Anastasia Golubeva/Hektor Giotopoulos Moore have withdrawn from Finlandia Trophy due to Golubeva suffering with poor health after falling ill with COVID. They have been replaced by Japan’s Yuna Nagaoka and Sumitada Moriguchi.
- Yixi Yang/Shunyang Deng have withdrawn from Cup of China (no pairs replacement named as of Nov. 11).
Other updates:
- The Belgian sports site Sporza reported that Loena Hendrickx will compete at the Golden Spin Challenger event after withdrawing from both of her Grand Prix events. Her goal is to defend her European title in January.
- Lucas Broussard has withdrawn from Warsaw Cup.
