Worlds Withdrawals/Additions List
- Olympic champion and 2025 World champion Alysa Liu has withdrawn from the World Championships. Alysa has been replaced by second alternate Sarah Everhardt.
- Alysa shared on Instagram the following: “As some of y’all already know, I withdrew from Worlds. There’s been a lot of exciting things happening since my return from Milan, so I’m taking some time for that. I will be cheering everyone on from afar. See y’all next season!!”
- Bradie Tennell was the first alternate and posted a message on Instagram story:
- “The decision to give up my spot was my own and it wasn’t one I made lightly. There was much thought and many reasons – I wasn’t passed over, and I’m (thankfully) not injured. Please don’t mistake this for a retirement announcement because that’s not what this means. They are two entirely different decisions. Thank you for all of the concern and support. I’m doing well and very excited to cheer on the team from afar.”
- Madison Chock and Evan Bates have also withdrawn from Worlds and have been replaced by Caroline Green and Michael Parsons. Evan posted a message on Instagram.
- Reigning World Bronze medalists Sara Conti and Niccolo Macii of Italy are also out for Worlds. No replacement has been named.

- Ilia Malinin wins the Fair Play Award for his instant support of Olympic Gold Medalist Mikhail Shaidorov.
- Stars on Ice U.S. has added to its roster – Andrew Torgashev, Emily Chan and Spencer Howe and Ellie Kam and Danny O’Shea will all join the U.S. tour.
- Japan’s Wakaba Higuchi, as expected, has officially retired.
- Fan Voting is now open for the 2026 ISU Figure Skating Awards
- David Botero, the 2014 U.S. Novice Pair Champion, has been issued temporary restrictions by the Center for SafeSport.
